R-value measures the resistance to heat flow of a wall or window, or how well the window insulates you from the elements.
The higher the R-value, the better.

What is U-Value?
U-value measures heat conduction thru a wall or window. The lower the U-value, the better. The lower the U-value, the greater a window's resistance to heat flow and the better its insulating value.
